The Advancing Women in Public Health & Medicine Symposium, sponsored by the Teikyo-Harvard Program, will address how individuals and institutions can augment existing, as well as create new, opportunities for women in the fields of public health and medicine. Meredith Rosenthal, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Health Economics and Policy, of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, will address the importance of enhancing diversity among public health practitioners in the U.S., while Marko Inoue and Keiko Nomura, Associate Professors at Teikyo University Graduate School of Public Health, will discuss the unique challenges facing women in the public health arena in Japan.

The Advancing Women in Public Health & Medicine Symposium, sponsored by the Teikyo-Harvard Program, will address how individuals and institutions can augment existing, as well as create new, opportunities for women in the fields of public health and medicine. Participants also will hear cutting research. Dr. Erica Warner, Assistant Professor at the Harvard Medical School, will discuss her network analysis of promotion in academia, while Dr. Yusuke Tsugawa, Research Associate at Department of Health Policy, Teikyo University Graduate School of Public Health, will share results of his research that asks “Do female physicians have better patient outcomes?”

Audience members will be encourage to ask questions and share thoughts during question/answer sessions, and several breaks will be held to facilitate networking.
